This week in spelling we will focus on words with the consonant blends of fl, bl, and st. We will spell words in the ore, ew, and ing families.
Words of the Week: more, store, stand, star, blew, flew, new, stone, sting, ring
We will continue addition with regrouping in math. We did a fun "math task" on Friday. We had to solve a question about a bag of Valentine Kit Kats. It was fun. Some of the comments from students were, "Boy, I had to think really hard." and "I think my brain hurts." They all did very well and were successful in figuring out the problem. Good job everyone!
We have begun our unit on mapping. We have learned about North America and Africa. This week we will learn about Australia and Antarctica.
On Thursday, we will have a Valentine's exchange and a party. Thank you to everyone who has volunteered to provide goodies. On Friday, we will have a President's Day Assembly.
