Homework
Monday Spelling words, yellow fluency paper
Friday Spelling test
There
isn’t any homework that needs to be returned this week. Please take this time
to study spelling words and read, read, read. Thanks.
Please
keep reading at least 20 minutes each night. The DIBELS exam will be given
again during the first part of May. The goal for words read per minute will be 87
words per minute. It is so important to read each night in order to reach this
goal. The yellow fluency paper that is sent home each week is a great tool to
practice reading fluency. Set a timer for one minute and read the passage. Read
the passage a second and even third time to see if the time gets faster. Rereading
is an excellent strategy to increase fluency.
*Don’t
forget to mark the reading calendar each day*
Chapter
6, 3-digit addition and subtraction, has been a little tricky for us. We have
slowed down a little in order to really understand the concept of addition and
subtraction with regrouping. We will have the Chapter 6 text on Friday.
