This week’s spelling words: No spelling
words this week! Hooray!!!
There
won’t be any homework this week. We are at the end of Unit 4 and will be doing
assessments. I am sending home a yellow fluency passage to practice at home.
Our
class just completed the DIBELS midyear exam. They did an awesome job. I will
give each of you the scores during SEP conferences in February. Reading each
night for 20 minutes is one reason why they did so well. Thank you for taking
time to read with your student each night.

We
just finished learning about Cycles in Nature and will begin learning about
Westward Expansion. Also, our wonderful student teacher, Ms. Black, will be
teaching us about the moon.
We
are wrapping up Chapter 4 (2-digit addition) this week. We will have the
chapter test on Wednesday. Our next chapter is 2-digit subtraction.
We are growing an Amaryllis in our classroom.
We learned a lot about the cycles of nature!
