In spelling this week we will focus on the vowel digraphs ai and ay and also long a words with silent e. We will also add two words from last week with the aw and oa sounds.
Words of the week: way, away, today, chain, wait, chase, play, played, rain, paint, fawn, boat.
We will continue to work on place value in math. Homework will come home on Wednesday.
We will be learning about clouds and rain as part of our weather unit.
On Friday, we will have an assembly to celebrate the upcoming Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday. The second grades will sing a few songs for the school. (We will share these songs with parents during our end of year program in May.)
